Is calling Whitewelll "Whitewell" racist?

I am having this thrown in my face by my political guru who was in Ohio in 2004 and swears everything in the county that swung the state -- and the country -- to Bush* (presumably Hamilton, where he was) was on the up and up.

One county, in one key state, decides the whole country's election?! Again??!! Oh, I'm perfectly fine with that!

John Lewis led the march to the state Capitol building, where Blackwell's SoS office was located.

But I never heard anyone refer to him as 'Whitewell.'
