Dr. Phil on Bruce Jenner's transition: 'He's kind of past [his] prime'

Dr. Phil on Bruce Jenner's transition:
'He's kind of past [his] prime'

Ahead of Diane Sawyer’s interview with Bruce Jenner regarding the former Olympian’s alleged gender transition, Jimmy Kimmel was curious what would happen if someone else had been tapped for the job. So on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late night host asked Dr. Phil if he was disappointed that Jenner didn’t choose him to conduct the interview.

“I would just say ‘Look, if it’s what you want to do, do it,’” Phil said. “What the hell does it matter what anybody else thinks?”

In addition to thinking the interview wouldn’t last long, Phil also believes Jenner may be “kind of past prime” to make the transition. “You’re almost 80—what’s the point?” Phil said of the gold medalist. (Jenner is actually 65.)

No, it's not the ideal time to transition in a lot of ways: she's likely never going to "pass". Her romantic prospects aren't great. She's got sixty years of odd ideas about women that aren't always squaring up with the reality of experience. People aren't always supportive.

But she's finally herself, and she's as happy as I've ever seen her.

I helped her find affordable care and took her to her first appointment. One of the proudest moments of my life.

What an obnoxious uninformed moron, why does anyone ask this guy his opinion on anything?

Thanks, Oprah.

Bruce Jenner is approximately 10 months older than Dr. Phil.....so I guess that makes the good (insert gagging on a hairball noise here) doctor "almost 79". What's the point of your advice Phil?

may crave attention but I think in this case, Bruce is being legit. Dr. Phil should look in the mirror if he wants to talk about "past his prime".
