Under the new agreement, senators will vote on two controversial bills favored by Democrats before moving to a wide-open debate on granting Obama fast-track authority to negotiate future trade deals.
The Senate will vote at noon Thursday on a stand-alone customs and enforcement bill that includes currency manipulation language and a stand-alone package of trade preferences for sub-Saharan Africa, according to a Senate aide. Both measures will require 60 votes to pass.

(14,255 posts)That is gonna be my no vote, no support list. Although, yeah, just the Florida politicians would be affected. And any candidate for president who does not come out strongly against the TPP.

(14,255 posts)Although I know that some politicians only vote one way or another when they know it really does not matter. Like voting against, say, a war, knowing that there are so many votes For that it doesn't change things.

(53,475 posts)... the corpo-Dems in the Senate will be able to say they voted against TPP until their bills were passed, the 99% will get fucked up the ass with a Louisville Slugger (no KY jelly available) and the SNAFU that is our federal government will continue.
