Just watching live coverage of Obama's motorcade heading out from Boeing Field to
the Madrona home where there will be a fundraiser (then on to the Paramount for a Dave Matthews fundraising concert).
I just get chills. And these are just long shots from the DOT cameras along I-5. Whenever a POTUS comes to town, I'm just reminded how great this country is, and as bad as it seems at times, at its heart we've got the right idea.
It's beautiful today, sunny, high fluffy white clouds. He took time to go visit the people gathered at Boeing Field even though the SS said there were no plans to do so.
There are people scattered around the Madrona area hoping to catch a glimpse, and a one little park, a woman holding a sign reading Thank You.
They're heading toward Montlake now, they're not sure what route he's taking or if he'll make an unscheduled stop. I hope they take him through the Arboretum, through Denny Blaine and along Lake Washington Boulevard.
They just showed the home of Bruce Blume, whose house will be the site of the fundraiser. It's on Lake Washington Blvd, one of the waterfront homes -- I'd say between Denny Blaine and Madrona, if anyone wants to try to crash it.
ETA: Across from Venetta Park, next to Kurt Cobain's house.
