Abraham Lincoln

Was tall, dark, and I think, handsome, though history tells us he was homely... but whatever he looked like, he had a lot of smarts..

When we see the candidates announcing and their supporters bragging, it's clear they need this reminder from Honest Abe:

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

Abraham Lincoln

But, according to this website, President Lincoln never said that:

Whether he did or didn't, it's not quite true. Judging people we've elected to office, it seems that one can fool almost all the people all the time, and I hope we're not had again like 2000-2008...

People preaching peace would take you to bombing Russia.
Income inequality would make laws making it worse.

Everything promised would be the opposite of what is actually done.

With Bush & Cheney, it took years to find out and we're still reaping the consequences.

Maybe psychoanalysis and lie detectors should be part of the screening for presidential and congressional candidates, as well as those chosen for cabinet secretaries.

Otherwise, I don't have a clue as to how we avoid being fooled again, like W said, "I can't get fooled again." Alas, but we can.
