http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/11/1392449/-Republican-congressman-People-with-disabilities-are-a-drain-on-societyThe Nevada State Democratic Party has released audio of Republican Congressman Cresent Hardy speaking to a Libertarian Party Expo in Las Vegas in which he says people with disabilities are a drain on society. From Raw Story:
But they all work hard. They are raising their own families, he continued. They will not be a drain on society, the best they can. Hopefully they will never have some disability that causes them to have to utilize that.

(45,251 posts)But, yes, some disabled people do need OASDI and/or welfare in order to avoid dying of starvation and/or exposure.
People who begrudge them that are a drain on humanity, sucking the life and soul out of it like fucking vampires. Ironically, many of them pretend to be religious.

(23,565 posts)reimbursement to pediatric home nursing through public aid. That caused a 20% decrease in pay to many of the home nurses doing shift work to care for these children. The kids typically get 8-12 hours a day of home nursing usually an LPN. So lots of the nurses quit to find better paying jobs. So the parents are doing much more care. They can't get enough sleep. Which has lead to the kids getting sicker which has lead to the pediatric ICUs being fuller. Of course without having enough nursing care it's much harder for the parents to work. etc etc etc.
And our governor is trying to get rid of the public aid hospice benefit because of money. Because you know ICUs are so cost effective.

(36,926 posts)I've worked with people with disabilities all my adult life. Their disabilities are not choices they made to rip off the government. The difficulties they face in life are completely overwhelming. Right now, our so called civilized society throws them a few bones in terms of disability compensation and ReTHUGS even want to even take that pittance away.
