(12,041 posts)I am not trying to shit on this thread, but that last photo really bothers me. The bank of Hillary for America? Do we really want this sort of corporate sponsorship of our political campaigns?
That is all I will say, like I said I want you guys to have a great time and I will leave you to celebrate.

Amalgated Bank is...
America's largest union-owned bank.
It was founded in the 1920s by the Amalgamated Clothing Workers.
so maybe it kinda works out ok?

(54,436 posts)Must be some local NY bank.
And they didn't say the bank was sponsoring her campaign. More likely just where contributions go in and expense checks go out of.
I can assure you that when O'Malley, Chaffee and Sanders get contributions, they don't go under a mattress, and the expense disbursements aren't made in cash, either. They all have to use a bank. Wanna bet Bernie's is in Vermont and O'Malley's in in Maryland and Chaffee's is in Rhode Island?
As an interested undecided, it's depressing to see the word "corporate" used in every second post here. It's exactly like Fox Noise whining about "libbruls." Every campaign write checks, so every campaign uses a bank. Just because Hillary's campaign has a bank they use, it does not mean "corporate sponsorship" by that bank any more than Bernie is getting "corporate sponsorship" from whatever bank his campaign uses in Burlington.
Like you said, we all hope they have a great time. I'm sure the mood will be every bit as upbeat as Bernie's event in Burlington was, and that's fine for a kickoff of a primary contest.
How absurd people can get. There are going to be banks and corporations. It's part of economic activity.

What was it that Roseanne Rosannadanna said?

(53,661 posts)Some may find that hard to believe, but most unionists I know, in public and private unions, support her. To disrespect her won't be a winning strategy with union members. Many will support Sanders, but he doesn't ever say anything negative about HRC. Nor does she in regards to him. They have been friends for a long time. In 2006:
...Sanders did accept support from national Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Barack Obama and Barbara Boxer. He also accepted a large donation from Hillary Clinton's Political Action Committee, HILLPAC, which featured him as one of its most important candidates.
http://socialistworker.org/2006-2/610/610_11_BernieSanders.shtml
Bernie is a part of the Democratic Party, mainstream in all respects, including voting for the first AUMF that opened the door to the Iraq War and voting to fund every bill since then. He has supported the trillion dollar expenses of the F-35 as it benefits his home state and provided jobs to fund the famed Burlington, VT. waterfront project.
VT socialists reject Bernie. He's steadfast in his support for defense funding for Israel. None of those are radical positions. I don't know why people (not necessarily you) want to paint him that way. He's a great and powerful candidate for many Democrats as is HRC.

Don't worry about it. Just take lots of photos and report later.
It's the best photo for HRC that Earl/Skinner took all day.
Amalgamated is a union bank, one of the most progressive banks in the U.S.

I had an account with them back in the '70s at their branch on Union Square.

(82,383 posts)That's the e-vul! Bad! Clothing workers selling out to be banksters! What's next! And you, having an account there! Sellout to the corporatists, you!
I remember when I was young and my parents set up a savings account for me. What evil parents. Wanting me to give what little money I had saved up from my allowance to the banksters! I do declare!

Coler hospital. i loved working on the island. could see manhattan and watch the boats go by. in the warm weather during lunch time we'd sit out on the grass and sun bathe. drove over that bridge every day. i see they merged with Goldwater hospital.
