?w=750HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (AP) A cat has been rescued from the engine of a pickup truck after a 28-mile ride from Pennsylvania to New Jersey.
Unbeknownst to the driver, the orange and white feline had crawled into the engine compartment. It was taken on a ride Thursday from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, to the Mars Chocolate North America plant in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
Employees there heard the cats meows and called police.
The cat was freed from the fan blades with the help of the towns public works department and Mars employees.
The cat ran off but was soon caught by police and turned over to an animal control officer. It wasnt injured.

The kitten's too young to face charges.
Thursday morning, Hackettstown police responded to the Mars Chocolate North America parking lot on High Street for a report a cat had been stuck in an engine compartment.
People walking by a car heard the orange and white kitten meowing, Sgt. Darren Tynan.
The kitten had somehow gotten stuck in the fan blades of a Mars employee's Nissan pick-up truck, he said. Authorities believe the kitten got into the engine compartment at the employee's residence in East Stroudsburg, Pa., and made stowed away for the entire 28-mile (30-minute) trip.
Tynan said the kitten appeared unharmed.
Once it was freed with the help the Hackettstown Department of Public Works and employees from Mars Chocolate North America, the kitten scurried away.
"After a brief foot chase, the cat was caught by police," Tynan wrote in a press release about the incident.
So far, the kitten is not facing any charges.

"The animal control officer keeping is for seven days hopefully they can find the owner," Tynan said. After that, the kitten would be taken to the Common Sense for Animals shelter in Franklin.
