Steve Nunn, State Represenative (ReTHUG Kentucky) killed his ex-fiance in 2009

He was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 - is he still there???
How come there was so little national coverage of this crime? His father was governor Louie B. Nunn. The case is on INVDISC - looks like pops was a complete scumbag himself.

He was sentenced under the domestic abuse law he helped make law.

As far as Republicans go, his politics were less odious than the usual. His personal behavior of course was far worse.

I assumed it was on national news also. As far as I know he's still in prison but I haven't heard much about the case in a long time.

From what I understand, he's received the expected punishment and ostracism associated with being convicted of murder.

Strange thing about his dad though: Louie Nunn raised taxes and increased spending as Governor. This might have been because the legislature was all Democratic, but it might also show how different the Republicans were back then. After all, Kentucky's senators at the time were liberal Republicans who did things like vote for the Civil Rights Act and oppose the Vietnam War.
