The IRS wants to know why this pastor owns five houses but pays no taxes

http://allchristiannews.com/the-irs-wants-to-know-why-this-pastor-owns-five-houses-but-pays-no-taxes/

Joyce Meyer, a figurehead for the prosperity gospel, as been criticized for over a decade because of the personal wealth that she has accumulated from her followers. Though some disapprove of her ministry because she is a woman, many more are disturbed by the lavish lifestyle that she leads with her husband, Dave Meyer.

According to TheRichest.com, Meyer’s net worth is around $25 million. The website also listed some of the charismatic speaker’s assets and their worth....

For over a decade, Meyer has also been battling over the rules of her ministry’s tax-exempt status. One of her biggest contenders is Jefferson County Assessor Randy Holman, who does not believe that the family’s estate should be filed as exempt from taxes.

“She’s using the ministry for her own private gain,” Holman said. “That’s the position we’re taking.”

Fundy preachers shearing the flock of every last nickel the poor chumps have is a grand old American tradition. One properly referred to as criminal fraud. Lock 'er up.

She is in my neck of the woods. She has a big church (luckily she turned off the purple neon cross when a local shopping area got big, it looked even more tacky amid the store signs), with a wrought iron fence around the perimeter, so I guess you have to be allowed in and not welcomed.

I am so glad our county got after her. I seem to recall when this started and she had to sell some homes because they were just too much for someone claiming a tax exempt status, she made a pittance of a donation to our school district of some computers. Made it seem like some generous gesture. I think our schools would be better off with the cash she can well afford to pay in her share of taxes.

She speaks kind words, but I don't know of any of her kind actions, especially any that are equal to her wealth.
