Doctors orders: Court psychologist finds conservative clown Dinesh DSouza arrogant and intolerant
Conservative filmmaker Dinesh DSouza apparently misjudged the extent of his community service requirement following his conviction for campaign finance violations, the New York Post reported.
A federal judge informed DSouza and his attorney, Ben Brafman on Monday that DSouza must perform eight hours of community work during the entirety of his five-year probationary term. Brafman later indicated that the requirement was only in place during DSouzas eight-month stay at a halfway house.
Were talking about five years of eight hours a week? Brafman said during the meeting with Judge Richard Berman. This is a very serious impediment to obtaining full-time employment because you miss one day of work a week.
Brafman reportedly met with Berman while DSouza listened in from California via speakerphone. The judge said he never contemplated limiting the documentarians community service to an eight-month term. He also read from a court psychologist report on DSouza ordering him to continue seeing him weekly for weekly therapy sessions.
The client tends to deny problems and isnt very introspective, the report read. The client tends to deny problems and is arrogant and intolerant of others feelings.

(9,214 posts)He could split the 8 hours between 2, 3, or 4 days even.
Like they say "if you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime."
I have learned one thing about myself, I must have a cold heart. Try as I might I can't seem to find any sympathy for the man. But he is one lucky guy, if I had been in charge of his sentencing he would be behind bars.

(3,732 posts)D'inesh can do his community service on Saturday. Problem solved.
But perhaps his objection can shine a light on how a lot of programs that are supposed to "help" the poor in the poverty bureaucracy actually become enormous time sucks that are in themselves impediments to getting work. Every "tracking sheet" and "homework assignment" is about that worker in the poverty industry getting paid, not about getting the poor person a livelihood. Otherwise, we'd just be giving jobs directly to poor people instead of enslaving them to filling out endless tracking sheets for free.

(111,305 posts)how on earth is the poor man supposed to work on his golf game? How onerous that 8 hours a week is to a man of his stature!
Personally, I think any community service the man did would be so badly done as to be worse than useless. I think spending that 8 hours a week in jail might be preferable.
Other than that, he's a typical right wing shithead who can't think beyond slogans.
