Photographer Captures Shocking Images Of Man Attacking Pride Parade In Israel

An Ultra-Orthodox Jewish man attacked revelers with a knife at Jerusalem’s annual gay pride parade on Thursday afternoon. Sebastian Scheiner, a photographer with the Associated Press happened to be there and captured the chaotic scene, including the moment right before the man pulled out the knife. Six young attendees were wounded in the attack.

The alleged attacker, Yishai Schlissel, was recently released from jail for committing almost exactly the same crime at a 2005 pride parade in Israel. He was arrested on the scene.

The photos are horrific! I just do not understand the hatred some have for the LGBT community. And in this case seemingly against women as well.

From his 2005 trial:

"I do not accept this court's authority. This court does not follow the rules of the holy Torah. This court is part of the mechanism of evil. I have no interest in cooperating at all. I do not recognize any of the regime's institutions."
