The GOP Debates Showed How Fox News Enforces Republican Orthodoxy (Propaganda)

Fox News is the enforcer of Republican orthodoxy.

At Thursday night's GOP debates in Cleveland, moderators Bret Baier, Bill Hemmer, Megyn Kelly, Martha MacCallum and Chris Wallace peppered the party's 17 presidential candidates with tough questions. But several of those questions had one key thing in common: They hit candidates for deviating from Republican orthodoxy.

These are fair questions. But they show the role journalists play in highlighting when one or two candidates profess views that are different from the majority of the field -- and the pressure those candidates face to bring their positions in line with other Republicans.

Here are a few examples:

as if they needed any assistance. I think they could have talked about the recent satellite images from Pluto and they would have found a way to slam Obama and Clinton.

I expected as much from a Faux Snooze production.

It was a showcase. And it was show business.
There was no substantive debate on any issue,
Just a lot of spoon-fed grand standing. Fox
did preface a lot of questions with spicy yet
commonly known controversy but I suspect their
long term strategy is to immunize their candidates
from future criticism. The whole thing seemed like
a well-orchestrated rally to go up enthusiasm
for the GOP led by Fox entertainment/propaganda
Masters. Mein Kampf my ass.
