(19,326 posts)She said "It was a lo-o-o-o-ng conversation"
If so, what did she get for the deal? Reinstatement of glass/steagall?

(54,337 posts)Howard put her through the third degree and figured he could support her. This was last year, and no one had declared yet. She leans on him for political advice as someone who was put through the wringer already, and knows perfectly well what it means to be shit upon by both left and right (2004), and emerge victorious down the road (2006 and then 2008). Howard's support wasn't for sale. It was earned and then freely given. He knows what it means to give his all and then be tossed out like so much garbage. It happened in 2009. He knows full well by now to expect nothing in return. He does what he does because he thinks he's doing the right thing, and at this point, he's only too used to having people disagree with him.

(19,326 posts)what verb do you think might be better,
for when a notoriously Establishment-Democrat gets a notoriously "populist grass-roots"
figure in their own party to champion their candidacy?
I'm open to suggestions.

(51,129 posts)as in close a real estate deal, etc. Gaining an endorsement is the action, so gain is another option.

(24,780 posts)She signed the letter encouraging her to run. She's more aligned with Hillary on the issues than with Sanders. And no, Wall Streey is not the only issue
This will cause great consternation among Sanders supporters. They will either 1) split and some support Hillary or 2) (more likely) Sanders supporters will turn on her.

(4,805 posts)Doesn't seem like she wants to be prez. Voters in MA are quite happy with her. Anybody else doesn't matter. They can't vote for her.
I suspect Hillary has a huge lead in MA. So it definitely cannot hurt her to endorse Hillary.

(20,453 posts)She'll endorse the person who has the leadership to make accountable the banking system. She will stand behind a leader who understands the oversight necessary for our next big thing
the ONLY thing we are left with to stop the bleeding
an outright paradigm shift of what constitutes wealth in this country.
(Hint: It isn't the international bankers who lend at 0% and enable Libor rate fixing and swapping risks of debt default).
Now
on to who that candidate might be
Cooler minds must prevail, I tell you. Stead on
consistent message
Anybody hear it?

(1,252 posts)She is one of the most respected voices in government today. She has stood fast against the power brokers and speaks her mind without fear.
It appears that her and Bernie see eye to eye on just about everything. If she chooses one of the others it would be great for them but she would be diminished in my eyes because I expect her to be consistent with her values. I need to believe her and If she betrays her values by endorsing a different candidate I would wonder forever how she could do that.
I hope that if she lends her support to a candidate in this cycle it is Bernie Sanders!
Sanders / Warren 2016

(10,044 posts)I think he talked her into it....and she will be VP....but I am almost always wrong when it comes to Warren. I was surprised when she herself didn't run.
Biden/Warren would be unbeatable IMO, and that leaves Bernie Sanders with the higher Senate position that Rachel now holds, or Majority Leader if they can get the party thing straightened out and McConnell sent to the farm.
