Is Wayne Lapierre a cult leader?

It seems like the NRA is a cult and he is the cult leader. He has millions of followers and has made them paranoid and believing that the government is out to get them and wants to take away their guns. Because they are trapped in their fear, they irrationally defend their gun religion while tens of thousands of people die from guns a year.
