According to David Suhor, an atheist who attended the meeting, the result was a 3-2 vote in favor of keeping the prayers in place. You can see what some of the public comments were like right here.
But more than anything, you have to check out this video from the event. Keep in mind this was taken at a school board meeting, not a Christian revival.

(13,110 posts)I don't want to live in a Christian Theocracy.
I don't want to live in any Theocracy.
Knowledge is power.
The dumbing down under the guise of 'religious freedom' continues.
They can pray in their homes 24/7.
They can pray in the homes of their religious family members 24/7.
They can pray in the homes of their religious friends 24/7.
They can pray in their houses of worship 24/7.
They can pray in their religious institutions 24/7.
They can bow their heads and pray in silence in public 24/7.
Why do they insist on involving everyone ???
Don't they realize how intrusive they are ???

(4,522 posts)And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward."

(39,215 posts)just as interested in the school board as the president. You have to have people who will enforce the laws at the local levels if you want change.
The Rs have learned that long ago.
