Sunday was the heartwarming reunion between a 93-year old woman and the teens that helped her out of the floodwaters.
Their actions may just give you a little more faith in humanity. Ashley Devriend was there to see them meet just one day later.
93 year old Sallie Cole is alive and safe thanks to these three teens after rushing water trapped her inside her home on Villa Road in Kountze Saturday.
"The rain got up around this house, right up to the door" says Sallie Cole.
"I ain't never seen anything like it honestly. It was over my waist and I'm 6'3" so" says Austin Rucks, 19.
Cole offered the boys money for helping her but they turned it down.
Instead they left their phone numbers for her in case she needs help again.

Ratings rules everything. Sadly it applies to EVERYTHING broadcast except maybe some NPR and XPB stations. Bad news draws more ratings and more viewer/reader/listener'ship than good news does.. so you see MUCH more of it.

(269,157 posts)Years ago a wall of water came down on my New York sister's car and some young men came running from a gas station and rescued her.
They too refused any gift when she and her husband went back to thank them a few days later. There are lots of decent folks around but the media prefer to promote hate.

Here is an old lady in need of help and people are only too ready to do so, as long as it is face-to-face. When she becomes a faceless person on SS and Medicaid, f**k her!
