First grader given 3 day suspension for playing power rangers

The boy’s parents, Matthew and Martha Miele, say their son was playing a game of Power Rangers at recess when their son pretended to shoot another student with an imaginary bow and arrow.

The principal suspended the 6-year-old student for three days.

Principal Crachiolo sent a letter home to parents stating in part:

“I have no tolerance for any real, pretend, or imitated violence. The punishment is an out of school suspension.”

sounds like the principal is on a power trip and should be fired. Some zero tolerance policies are just crazy.

This principal is a two bit tyrant acting out on little kids and using PC as an excuse.

Little boys run around and pretend to shoot each other. Some little girls get in on the action and do the same thing (I did).

Unless they're causing physical harm, back the hell off. This is normal behavior. Most will outgrow it.

18-19 ish years ago when I was in either 2nd or 3rd grade the first season of power rangers in the US came out and we were all punching and kicking each other during recess and fought over who was the green ranger. Came back in with a few cuts, but it was no big deal, zero tolerance has gotten really out of hand.

Not that long ago they used to beat kids with paddles in class. No tolerance for violence right? Kiss my ass hypocrite.

A supple stick, some of my mom's thread and I had a bow. A few straight sticks for arrows and watch out. Couldn't hit the side of a barn, but whatever, I certainly let fly with my weapons of mass destruction.
