These 13 tiny pencil sculptures are truly magnificent

http://www.upworthy.com/these-13-tiny-pencil-sculptures-are-truly-magnificent

Pencils have been used to make a lot of amazing art. But it's a rare day when the pencils themselves are the main attraction.

This magical button delivers Upworthy stories to you on Facebook:
Fidai uses a very precise blade, a steady hand, and a whole lot of skill to create pencil lead sculptures unlike anything you've ever seen.

"It takes six to 12 hours of work for an average statue. Complicated models take two to three days," Fidai told Upworthy. "In some cases [I even use] a microscope for the tiniest details."

I remember once being amazed at those vendors at the mall who write your name on a grain of rice. But those guys have nothing on Fidai.

and failing all his classes.

On a side note, someone has to commission the artist to do a miniature David.

It must really suck getting 95% complete then having the blade slip and ruining the whole thing.

Well as an artist, I always expect failure, at least once on a project. The failures make one stronger. I can see the tip breaking. I myself have been just about finished a watercolour painting, and added i last stroke that bleed, was too dark....dripped, ran....etc, but as one of mentors would say.... "If you are going to have a failure, have a glorious failure"
