If you are referring to the Trump demonstration that it "can't happen", then sure it can.

We don't know anything about the knife or the belt buckle. Cheap knife? Big buckle? Sure.

The real question is who gives shit about Carson's fabulous stories. His biography, like those of other Biblical characters, isn't meant to be taken literally.

Those knives are a lot sturdier than the one you show. Even the folding "scout" style are quite sturdy.

It really isn't much about physics, just common sense. Breaking the blade with a thrust against a large solid object is nearly impossible. It would deflect to the side.

The belt buckle would not be very solid. It would give some against the stomach, reducing the force.

When Carson was challenged on his story, he said he had thrown the knife. The odds are really against a thrown knive having the right angle or the force to break the blade.
