David Vitter: Gays Have 'Shoved' Same-Sex Marriage 'Down The Throats' Of Christians
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Friday, 11/13/2015 1:00 pm
Sen. David Vitter, R-La., addressed the Jefferson Baptist Church in Baton Rouge yesterday in an attempt to burnish his conservative credentials as he campaigns for governor. Vitter, who is perhaps best known for his involvement in a prostitution scandal, announced at the beginning of his speech that he had received the endorsements of a number of Religious Right activists and organizations, including Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, a former Louisiana state lawmaker. In his speech, Vitter criticized the notion of the separation of church and state and denounced the Supreme Courts landmark marriage equality decision, claiming that gay rights advocates want their views shoved down the throats of folks who have sincerely held religious views that marriage is between one man and one woman.

(21,506 posts)Is they feel it is some how being shoved down their throats. As if it somehow affects them. At the same time they are trying to shove their beliefs down everyone else's throat where it definitely will affect people.
The glaring hypocrisy that everyone should have to live by their rules but they should never have to adhere to anyone else's is just baffling to me. Even more so in situations like this where gay people getting married will have absolutely no impact on them whatsoever beside perhaps making them feel uncomfortable yet their rules can negatively impact thousands of gay couples.
I find it bizarre.

Boggles the mind, eh?

(53,959 posts)But yes, he is correct in the way we gay people have forced gay marriage down the throats of poor, persecuted, Gawd-a'fearin' Christians...why just yesterday I popped into a church a forced a man and a woman to marry another man and woman and just for shits and giggles, I said "Mazel Tov" instead of "congratulations" further humiliating them by flaunting my Jewishness at them.
Oh wait, that didn't happen...it's never happened. People like him are so damn concerned about their own desires and beliefs that anything which isn't or doesn't fall in like with it are somehow heretical.
Don't support "gay" marriage, don't get gay-married. Problem solved!
