Creationist Ken Ham says his Noah’s Ark amusement park will open in July 2016

http://www.rawstory.com/2015/11/creationist-ken-ham-says-his-noahs-ark-amusement-park-will-open-in-july-2016/

A controversial Noah’s Ark-themed amusement park in Kentucky will open on July 7, 2016 and should attract 1.4 million people annually, the park’s founder said on Thursday.

Currently under construction in Williamstown, northern Kentucky, Ark Encounter will include a full-sized wooden replica of the ship from the Biblical story of Noah and the great flood....

In the summer of 2014, Kentucky officials awarded the park’s developers tax incentives, potentially worth more than $18 million over 10 years. However, state officials in December pulled the credits after developers said they would only hire workers who shared their fundamentalist Christian beliefs....

The opening date for the park was based on a verse from the book of Genesis – the seventh verse of the seventh chapter details when Noah and his family entered the ark, Ham said.

Okay, so where's he going to get a pair of every species in existence?

Certainly the constitution doesn't say no religion at all.

Ark Encounter officials then sued the state in federal court in February to get the incentives reinstated.

The same federal court system that gave us Hobby Lobby.

But the election of a Republican governor who will take office in 2016 could render the lawsuit moot. Gov.-elect Matt Bevin could drop the court defense and move to place the ark's application back in the tax rebate program. Bevin has said he supports tax rebates for the project.

I wouldn't want to take too much from him, but I'd bet his little amusement park doesn't last out the first term of the next president. I'd double the bet that paid admissions don't top 1.4 million after 2018.

snap a picture next to the sign, and drive away laughing.

But hey - maybe he knows something we don't: El Nino is coming, so perhaps a giant wooden boat filled with livestock will come in handy this winter...

....We believe that what we're doing here in this particular life-size reconstruction will be the most authentic and realistic reconstruction of Noah's Ark in the world," Ham said during a media gathering on the ship's deck Thursday.

The state gave final approval for a tourism tax incentive to the project in 2011, but slow fundraising hampered the ark's development and the builders had to reapply. Last year, the state rejected the second application for an $18 million sales tax rebate, citing growing concerns of "religious indoctrination." The ark's builders are suing in federal court to get back in the incentive program.

But the election of a Republican governor who will take office in 2016 could render the lawsuit moot. Gov.-elect Matt Bevin could drop the court defense and move to place the ark's application back in the tax rebate program. Bevin has said he supports tax rebates for the project.

How is a for profit amusement park a Christian attraction? It's just like his stupid Creation Museum. There's little to do with religion in it. It is just a money making scam. Ken Ham is such a huckster.
