1. My heart is breaking for the French people.

I know it is cliche, but I sooo love Paris and I could spend hour upon hour upon hour at the Louvre (and Notre dame, though I'm not even religious). I can't say such violence is worse when it is targeted at any specific place over another, but somehow knowing they focused on the Louvre inexplicably hits me even harder.

2. Some will very likely be unconnected.

Hollande has sealed the borders, very prudent of him but hard on vacationers. A lot of people in Paris have a tough few days ahead of them.

The whole thing is horrible. It will get worse as there is backlash against the peaceful Muslims living there.
