“The Harvard University Police Department is investigating the incident as a hate crime,”

Is anyone concerned that putting a piece of electrical tape on a picture is now a hate crime.

Not clear on what you mean by lack of context and why you should apologize?????

I simply thought charging someone with a hate crime for putting two pieces of electrical tape on someones picture is a little over the top. Very stupid yes. Sophomoric yes. A hate crime not so much.

You seem to disagree and I respect that.

There's a very specific reason for the people who's pictures they chose. You're dismissing it by framing it in a way that leaves out key facts.

As someone pointed out in another thread, this may be a response to a previous blog, posted by an author who started putting black tape over the Harvard crest. By the way, I think said author of that blog is a bigoted idiot herself, but that's another issue.

It simply troubles me that what appears to be stupid college pranks starts out being characterized as a hate crime.

Whatever happened to getting the facts first?
