a reminder that it is against the TOS
Do not post or link to any private/personal information about any person, even if it is publicly available elsewhere on the Internet.
Giving out person info can be harmful as well as an invasion of privacy. The offending post was alerted on and the Jury voted to leave the post visible.
This is a tombstoning violation IMHO and I am not shy about telling the violators just that.
ETA....The Poster has finaly removed the name. And for those that asked, I will not link to the post, both to the protect the name of the person being exposed and also because the poster has finally removed the offending post.

On Fri Nov 20, 2015, 04:26 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
I think it's about hillaryclintonsupporters.com
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=7366285
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Again a DUer violates DU rules by posting a member's real name. Whoever you support in the primaries, this is wrong.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Nov 20, 2015, 04:39 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Posting the real name of a website owner is not a DU rules violation.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's the name of someone on another site. If they're a person on du, that name is not revealed
Please just stop this nonsense
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The truth will set you free.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: That site owners name is displayed on the first page of his site. Anyone can see it. Everyone can see it. Was his DU name linked to it? No. Leave it.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Posting a real name of someone with a website and NOT connecting them with a DU name is NOT exposing someone.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(51,308 posts)A certain poster posted a thread that he was being targeted for "termination" from DU. He was "told" this, but no proof was ever provided on that score. No one knows who the mysterious source was (or at least I don't).
This came on the heels of another poster with a thread about yet ANOTHER poster being "targeted." Apparently, THAT poster is on suspension, which is all the "proof" one side needed to fight with the other side.
The "termination" thread blew up into a lovely circular firing squad, which is causing hysterics over at the cave, and really is pretty freaking amusing even to many of us here - were it not so damn sad and pathetic.
The "termination" thread seemed to be a fight between Sanders and Hillary supporters, as well as about some screenshots posted at some other website that supports Hillary. Why anyone cares about what another site says about anyone here, I can't answer.
In the meantime, the "termination" thread has essentially been retracted, and the source that caused the "termination" thread remains unknown/mysterious/but certainly (!)a dark sinister person stirring up stuff on DU.
The "retraction" thread has now become (or is becoming) a carbon copy of the original "termination" thread."
As usual, it is the same old posters who continue the nasty infighting. On both sides.
This really reminds me of the Lounge wars of time gone by.
Anyway, get some popcorn and settle in.
I tried to keep it brief, but lawd a'mercy, this is a DU classic.

(8,175 posts)Like Alan Grayson. That is his member name here (even if he does not personally post here) and that is he name is real life.
We post real names here all the time. Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Steve Lesser. If Hillary and Bernie have anonymous accounts here, do we break the TOS every time we post their name?
Oh no, I need to be tomb-stoned because I just posted Steve Lesser's real name?
Come on people, be sensible. If you don't connect a person's real name to a DU moniker, have you given anything away? If you even imply a DU moniker connection, then, yes you have probably broken the TOS.
I'm not referring to any other thread but this one. If we are talking about another site and the owner of that site, and we post their publicly available name here as owner of that site, without linking to their moniker here, what is the problem? Is that really against the TOS?
Maybe someone needs to clarify that rule.

So the guy who calls us white trailer trash is upset that someone might know his full name.
The owner of DU has a name, which is public knowledge, but I'm not allowed to refer to it on this site.
Personally, I don't know why so many here are obsessed with that sewer website. It has about 90 registered members. Giving them attention and allowing them to feel persecuted is giving them exactly what they desire.
