You xenophobic bed-wetting bigots: The Paris terrorists were from Europe, not Syria or Iraq

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/11/19/1452072/-You-xenophobic-bed-wetting-bigots-The-Paris-terrorists-were-from-Europe-not-Syria-or-Iraq

House Republicans voted to pause the process of allowing refugees from Iraq and Syria to enter the United States. Republican-led states are refusing to help the refugees. Republican presidential candidates want to keep the refugees out. But their xenophobic bed-wetting bigotry ignores one small fact:

All the other known attackers, as well as Abaaoud, are of French and Belgian nationality with similar life stories of limited petty crime or drug taking, and radicalisation in their late teens or early twenties. At least four are known to have spent time in Syria with Islamic State extremists.

As European citizens, there was no need to resort to subterfuge or risk Mediterranean sea crossings to reach their target. They could travel freely around the continent even when the authorities in their home countries were aware of their extreme views and foreign travels.

Some had traveled to Syria, but they were all European. They were not refugees from Syria or Iraq. They were not refugees from anywhere. One Syrian passport was found at one of the attack sites, but there are huge questions about its significance:

Yet right-wingers -- and a shocking number of DUers! -- are using those attacks as a sorry excuse to keep Syrian refugees -- who, might I remind you, are refugees because they're fleeing Daesh -- out of the country.

according to some news reports.

I predicted this would happen a while ago.

If you (as in the west) supply jihadis with weapons then leave your borders open, they're going to come back and attack you.

It's far better to stop supporting the jihadis and let the Syrians go home.

that caused the crisis in the first place.

This back and forth about refugees avoids the topic of cutting the funding to the jihadis causing the crisis.

It's reported on quite a lot there are hundreds of jihadis who have been to Syria and returned to Europe.

Cutting the funding to the jihadis and securing the borders seems like a better policy to me.

Syrians killing Syrians, Iraqis killing Iraqis, Afghans well they seem to want to kill anyone. Saudis want to kill Americans and anyone without the name of Saud. Americans, well they are simple, they want to kill anyone who doesn't look like a rich white person.

I hope I have that correct.

One of the men who attacked Paris held an emergency passport or similar document, according to an unnamed French senator who was briefed by the French Ministry of the Interior. The senator told CNN the bomber falsely declared himself to be a Syrian named Ahmad al Muhammad, born on September 10, 1990, and was allowed to enter Greece on October 3. From there he moved to Macedonia, then Serbia and Croatia, where he registered in the Opatovac refugee camp, the lawmaker said. Eventually, he made his way to Paris, where he was one of three men who blew themselves up at the Stade de France.

Fingerprints on the passport matched those of the Stade de France bomber, the French senator told CNN.

The fingerprint was not in the French database, the senator said, and therefore officials believe the man was among a group of refugees and migrants.

The two others who detonated themselves at the stadium carried false Turkish passports, the French senator said.

Ahmad Al Mohammad, 25, who blew himself up, may have entered Europe as part of the migration of refugees from war-torn Syria. He was born in Idlib, Syria, and had been issued a Syrian emergency passport after landing on the Greek island of Leros, according to CNN.

Bilal Hadfi, 20, described as baby-faced young man, blew himself up outside the stadium, according to the Telegraph. He is reported to have fought with the Islamic State in Syria before arriving in Belgium.

For the rest their parents came from the Middle East.

That republicans voted to do this I don't think is a surprise to anyone. It is sad that so many Dem's decided this way as well but you can't really blame them. It is a simple calculation based on the “How could you let this happen” world we have created. Their political career can survive taking this position, it could not survive if a refugee/s really did do an attack. No one would be saying “it sucks that we got attacked but kudo’s to congress person X for taking the brave stance of not caving into fear and not allowing the refugees in”…no, no, no,…they would probably have to go into hiding.

It is the exact same reason Sony caved into not releasing “The Interview” everyone blasted Sony for being “cowardly” by not releasing it…but had one injury, let alone a mass event taken place at any theater Sony would have been bankrupted or another example would be all the complaints about having to remove shoes before getting on a plane but if plane would have been brought down due to a shoe device everyone would have gone mad asking how TSA could let that happen also...we can't have it both ways.
