I would never consider contributing to the DNC, but is the DSCC as bad? They have a triple match going right now and I was thinking of pitching in a few bucks.

(19,537 posts)Now for me, I avoid the DSCC, and have heard some bad things about it, but in general, I try to contribute to organizations with more stated progressive agendas instead like PDA, etc.
The DCCC in the House is kind of equivalent to the DSCC, and I hold them in far lower regard than any of these other entities, as this group was the tool of Rahm Emanuel who headed it up at one time before he moved on to other things, and has continued to function in a similar way of encouraging more corporate friendly candidates over progressive candidates to get funding, etc. in House races. I avoid them like the plague, and in the past I would advocate mailing them bricks with their self-addressed envelope postage.

The easy answer around here will be "I'll NEVER give them money" followed by "they never support progressives". Well, I've had several private discussions with the DSCC Executive Director, and I can tell you that their sole concern is getting new candidates elected and incumbents re-elected. They looking for competent and well organized people with strong campaign teams and fundraising ability. They don't give money to people who don't need it, and they don't give money to people who can't use it.
I you want to do your own research and target individual candidates, knock youself out; otherwise, it's a good resource.

(20,204 posts)is because of the triple match. Otherwise, just contributing to individual candidates makes more sense. I already contribute to Sanders monthly, but we need to take back more Senate and House seats too.

(39,215 posts)like Rahm did? That is what I am afraid of that while we elect Bernie our money will go to support Third Way candidates. But I really wish instead of a poll someone would take the time to tell us what has been going on and who they support.
There is the story about DWS pushing two Florida candidates down the drain in favor of two Rs. We need to know what we are really supporting when we donate.
Presently I am donated to candidates I know are supporting what I want.
