(17,199 posts)American Marine Tayyib Rashid Tells Donald Trump Where To Go On Muslim ID Cards
By Sara C Nelson
11/20/2015
A former US Marine has delivered the perfect riposte to Donald Trumps refusal to rule out the suggestion that Muslims living in America should carry ID cards.
Tayyib Rashid, who says he served from 1997 to 2002, responded after Trump voiced support for creating a mandatory database to track Muslims living in the USA.
Rashid, whose goes under the name ProudAmericanMuslim on Twitter, addressed the Republican presidential hopeful directly, asking him: Hey, Im an American Muslim and I already carry a special ID badge. Wheres yours?

Donald Trump believes that because he attended a military high school, he has an understanding of what it is like to be in the military, despite deferring the Vietnam War draft for medical reasons.
"My number was so incredible and it was a very high draft number. Anyway so I never had to do that, but I felt that I was in the military in the true sense because I dealt with those people," Trump told Michael DAntonio, the author of the forthcoming book "Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success," according to a preview in the New York Times.
Trump attended the New York Military Academy from eighth grade through the end of high school where he participated in military drills and encountered some instructors who had served in the military, according to the Times.
He told D'Antonio that at the academy, he got "more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military."

(12,674 posts)I do declare, I feel he got far more military training than I've ever experienced...
My 20 years military service - training time in boot camp, service schools, training for deployment on Navy Ships, training for Force Protection and Damage Control/Emergency Response, training on ship's weapons and defense systems, training to be able to provide operational and tactical assessments for general and specialized maritime missions and battle strategies - those can't be half as military as what he went through in those horrendous, difficult 4 years of Military Academy.
And I'm just a widdle girl who signed up in 1977, was guideon for my RTC unit, went through the tear-gas and firefighting training with flying colors (and few tears), aced the men's obstacle course (which I didn't have to take) with a 75 lb. seabag over my shoulder, and started the process towards a marksman's ribbon to boot during those 12 weeks of boot-camp.
So, I guess at the time, you might have been able to do more push-ups than I could. Oh-rah-rah-rah, Mr. Trump. Oh, rah-rah-rah.

Now we have Yuck Todd every day.
And Hardball cuts away every time Trump holds a town hall rally.

(26,060 posts)I don't even watch Rachel anymore. I wouldn't want msnbc to think I approve of anything they've done in the last 2 years. They can all be taken off the air as far as I'm concerned.

You know who I really miss? Phil Donahue!

(26,060 posts)started with Donahue getting fired. Got better with Rachel, Chris Hayes, Steve Karnacki (Lawrence didn't really do it for me, don't really know why). But in the last two years, they've moved right so I stopped watching and sent an email telling them why. It's really the only weapon I have - just shutting it off.
