So, the GOP and other groups plan to spend over a billion dollars on the election. That's an awful lot of money pumped into the economy. It will disproportionally affect swing states but it will definitely stimulate economies. At all levels. From advertising agencies to coffee shops (boots on the ground need coffee - except the Mormons, LOL)
So, will the GOP's accidental stimulus get Obama reelected? That would be some sweet, sweet irony. And some poetic justice.

(9,236 posts)not sure how "trickle down" will effect this but "job creators" (top 1%) will make billions!

(13,558 posts)A lot of these RW fat cats are sitting on their fat wallets. This will put some of that back into hiring the people who will produce their propaganda.
It would be better to do it by raising taxes on them but it's something.

(111,286 posts)since running all those ads costs so much more than producing them. The real money will go to radio and TV megacorporations, so it stays in the plutocracy family, so to speak.
There would be an accidental stimulus if media were still owned locally. Alas, they are not.
The truth hurts.

(3,231 posts)It's local offices hiring local people, catering companies, gas bought at local businesses eating out at restaurants and so on.
It's not trickle down, it's stimulus because money is going into the economy.
Corporations have been sitting on their money to purposefully stall the economy -- the best part of this idea is that they are parting with some of the piles of cash they have been sitting on.
They are going to do what they've been avoiding since Obama was elected: spend money!
Between the two campaigns, there is going to be a large infusion of cash.
Now if I had my way, all the bastards sitting on piles of ill-begotten gains would pay 75% taxes and elections would be public funded. But when you're stuck with what we've got right now, I am going to enjoy the irony of the R's themselves stimulating the economy, even accidentally.

The republican 1% will NEVER, EVER vote against their own self interests. They will NEVER, EVER act to help the population as the primary motive. They will ALWAYS act in their own self interests.
They couldn't care who the Rep nominee is, but the more they share the "brotherly love of money and making more money", the better.

Big joke around here is if you go camping with one mormon, hide the beer. If you go camping with two, you'll need extra beers to cope with their faithfulness.
