If Bundy and Co shoot first - then law enforcement has every right to defend themselves and those in the surrounding community.

This 'fear based thinking' is driving me nuts.

They can't stay there forever.

Cut of the power, water, gas. Throw 'em a bullhorn to communicate - and cut off of the cell service, cut the phone lines.

This is pretty simple. If they want to starve/freeze to death then at least it gets them out of the way and there is one less radical in America to contend with.

If it doesn't work - build a stone wall - kind of like what Trump is suggesting around them and turn it into a prison.

It's not an unarmed black kid so we can let them take their time.

Wouldn't want any booboos

Isn't this why police needed all that military equipment?

"Well, those bank robbers might fight their way out, and who knows, some other bank robbers might show up, I guess there is nothing we can do but wait, and let them come and go as they please."

"Well, those guys in the meth lab might fight their way out..."

This makes no sense.

pressure just can't process this shit any more. Go in and get those little assholes and drag them out by the hair, FFS! Doesn't anyone understand that we are encouraging these bastards in their idiocies? And that we are cementing everyone's perceptions that armed white people are A-OKAY to do any goddamned thing they want (including threatening the police, robbery, B&E, etc.) while black people who don't use their turn signal are murdered in the street? Is ANYBODY thinking?

Ok. Gotta stop. There goes the blood pressure.

If the US Army needed to re-call veteran volunteers to active duty in order to establish a blockade I would happily answer that call. If the militants wanted to fight their way out, I would happily watch the artillery fire, drones and other long range assets reduce their numbers before further reducing them with small arms fire which I doubt would be needed due to the armored assets we would also have to employ in this endeavor.

These guys are bringing sporks to a knife fight.

Sure didn't bother them with Occupy. Surr didn't bother them with Ferguson. Who knew a hand full of yeehaws could back down the US?

I think they should be a little more worried that they have just shown all of the yeehawdist just how little it takes to back down our government and write your own laws. They didn't even have to buy congress.

This situation has already festered far too long. They are now intimidating non-supporters in the town. The schools are closed. It's time for so called "law enforcement" to end this thing, and if Bundy resorts to violence, then so be it.

I see no evidence they are suicidal. You really think they are all willing to die because the electricity gets turned off? Because that is what would happen if they fired at the authorities, and they know that. Treating them with kid gloves muddies that certainty; they begin to believe that the police may never take a stand. In short, this laissez faire approach may actually make a violent outcome MORE likely, depending on how it is handled going forward.

and that was bad enough but now other militias have come in. The least the FBI or local law enforcement could do at this point, is not allow anyone else in. The more people that show up there, the more entrenched they'll become--because they feel their cause is righteous.

We need to end this now or it WILL get worse.

These people broke into this building and are destroying property. Plus they have stollen personnel information. These are ALL crimes.
The bare minimum is shut the fucking power down and arrest those who leave. The armed people are the ones who came looking for a fight, not the federal gov. Supposedly we are a land of laws, but I guess the melanin content of your skin determines if you will face consequences to your actions.

One way or another the assholes have to give us our bird sanctuary back. They claim they want all land in the hands of citizens, but they're keeping people who enjoy nature away from land owned by all the people.
