"Mommy? Can I go home? I've been a good boy. I really did try hard."

I imagine that line every time I see or hear John Ellis Bush ! say or do something. His whole body language says that.

He is indeed pathetic. Kind of the Eeyore candidate. Just wanting to go home and suck his thumb.

It's like it was something he was expected to do, and that he expected to have happen kind of automatically because he had the money and the connections. But then when it wasn't handed to him he got all sad and whiny and kind of desperate. And he also said some remarkably stupid things that made me wonder whether he really was the smarter brother. Maybe by asking W to endorse him he's deliberately killing his campaign so he can go home.

...and how she raised the kids. It must have been easy for Daddy to be loved when Mommy got to wield the discipline.

But, wow, talk about a Freudian statement from Jeb!? He must have really had it up to the teeth with strangers telling him what a saint his mother is.

That's the place where any sympathy I have for Lil Jebby completely fails.

You can see it in the occasional sigh, that one plea for applause, the deer-in-the-headlights look in his eyes, the out-of-touch rhetoric, his tendency toward understatement. It is pathetic.

I actually feel sorry for him. Of course that feeling would vanish if he ever did well. Then I would despise him for his Republican assholery.

At this point he just doesn't know how to throw in the towel without
admitting to his campaign donors that he's all washed up.
