Shawna Cox allowed to attend Finicum funeral

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A federal judge allowed Shawna Cox, one of the 16 Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupiers indicted for conspiracy, to attend a funeral for Robert “LaVoy” Finicum on Friday.

Cox was released from the Multnomah County Detention Center on Jan. 29 and returned to her hometown of Kanab, Utah, where Finicum’s funeral will be held.

KXL News reported that the judge ordered Cox to make no public statements at the funeral. She must go straight in and out of the service.

Cox is on GPS monitoring and home detention, and can only travel “for employment, medical appointments, and religious and other activities with authorizations from her pretrial services officer,” according to the motion filed in U.S. District Court on Thursday.
