ATTENTION: Colin Powell Says He Agrees With Hillary Clinton On ‘Classified’ Emails

The Republicans just love to talk about the so-called “scandal” with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails while she was still at the State Department. It’s a regular talking point that comes up at least once at every GOP debate and is also a guaranteed applause line on the stump. Here’s the GOP frontrunner, Donald Trump, giving his expert opinion on the matter just last year:

But now we have another former Secretary of State–Colin Powell–who has also seen some of his emails retroactively classified. Powell said he agrees with Clinton that all of their emails–every single one of them–should be declassified and released to the public:

I wish they would release them, so that a normal, air-breathing mammal would look at them and say, ‘What’s the issue?’ They were unclassified at the time, and they are, in my judgment, still unclassified.

I've been saying for a while that anybody who knows anything about this knows there's nothing here. If you handle unclassified information and classified information that is going to get passed around, ultimately there will be stuff that appears to be classified. It happens all the time. The mistake here was ever allowing her to use a private server for official business. What happened was highly predictable and should never have been authorized.
