The Latest: House to Consider Impeachment of Pennsylvania AG
By MARK SCOLFORO AND MARC LEVY, ASSOCIATED PRESS
HARRISBURG, Pa. Feb 10, 2016, 2:41 PM ET
The latest on the Pennsylvania Senate's plan for a vote on Wednesday to remove Attorney General Kathleen Kane (all times local):
2:25 p.m.
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives has approved a resolution to investigate whether to remove the state's top prosecutor as state senators continue to debate whether to order her removal through a second process.
The House voted 170-12 on Wednesday to authorize the Judiciary Committee to recommend whether Attorney General Kathleen Kane should be impeached. Her law license was suspended in October after she was charged with leaking grand jury material and lying about it.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Ron Marsico has said the panel's work could be finished in May or June.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Survives Vote to Remove Her
By MARK SCOLFORO AND MARC LEVY, ASSOCIATED PRESS
HARRISBURG, Pa. Feb 10, 2016, 3:22 PM ET
Pennsylvania's embattled attorney general survived a Senate vote to remove her from office on Wednesday as all but one of her fellow Democrats stood by her, defeating a resolution that said her lack of a valid law license had rendered her unable to perform her official duties.
The 29-19 vote fell several votes short of the two-thirds required in the 50-seat Senate under a provision of the state constitution that gives the chamber the ability to remove elected civil officers without going through the House-initiated impeachment process.

(24,768 posts)4. I always was of the opinion that the PTB were retaliating against AG Kane
for blowing the whistle on repukes who were passing around porn emails on government servers. The Old Boys network can't stand being exposed for the sexist pigs they really are.
