Black high schoolers met with confederate flags, racial slurs at Texas A&M

BY MEAGAN FLYNN
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2016 | 4 HOURS AGO

... On Tuesday, students from Uplift Hampton Preparatory, a Dallas charter school, were on a tour at the College Station campus when a white college-aged woman approached two black high school girls and asked them what they thought of her earrings.

They were miniature Confederate flags.

Then, a few minutes later on the tour, a group of white college students lounging in a grassy area yelled out to the high schoolers, “Go back where you came from”—and punctuated that comment with “the most well-known racial slur directed toward African Americans,” Texas Sen. Royce West, who was disgusted by what happened, said in a letter.

Texas A&M officials on several tiers responded swiftly to the incident. A Texas A&M tour guide called campus police immediately, and while the first officer had apparently said he couldn't do anything because of freedom of speech, a complaint was soon filed, and university President Michael Young said the incident is now under investigation ...

Most though, pretty much KKK material. Yet they all cheer for the football team's black athletes. Strange.

And I'm especially sensitive to knocks on southerners.

But the only aggy I've ever known is a crazy right wing racist too.

I've always been puzzled why black high school athletes are eager to go to A & M. It is still a racially backward place.

Houston residents, or at least the UT grads among them, refer to the Loop 610 highway that encircles the city as the "Aggie evacuation route".

Did you hear the one about the Aggie who met a beautiful woman? She whispered in his ear, "Do it to me where it's dirty and nasty!"

So he drove her to Beaumont.

Coming from the South - I still expect this kind of shit from the older people (65+) - but am SHOCKED when I see it coming from this Millennial generation.

It just saddens me that so much hatred is pushed down through generations.

When you travel the world as much as I do, you learn that racism is NOT limited to the US in the least (still see insane racism in SE Asia and Middle East) - but it fucking pisses me off when I see it in our country after all we have been through and seen.

Ironic thing - most of these asshole kids probably LOVE hip hop music and worship the black footballbasketball players.

I never want to legislate speech, but I would not shed a tear if these kids ended up getting the shit kicked out of them.
