Update: Prior to this article’s publishing, Senator Cruz was flagrantly blocking federal aid to the overwhelmed residents of Flint, Michigan. It was only after he was shamed by other members of Congress did he change course and support the bill.
There’s one truly amazingly wonderful thing about being a teabagger: you get to hate govmint while living off of it because you’re white and own guns and crap. Okay, maybe that is more violently maddening than wonderful. But what makes your blood pressure rise faster than Lewis Black in a Daily Show segment is when a Republican Senator does it.
Proving once again that his chief concern is trying to best trump for the moron vote, Republican Senator and Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz is obstructing a key bi-partisan bill that provides millions of dollars to Flint, Michigan–a city beset by water contamination. This is the same man (well, pretend human being) who begged for the big old meanie govmint to bail out his then flood-stricken state of Texas. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a lead negotiator on the Flint aid package, recognized that Cruz’s inaction was preventing it from moving to the floor.
How much of a lunatic do you have to be when even Jim Inhofe, the guy who thinks climate change is whatever happens to be going on outside his window, looks better than you.
