Former CIA director: Military may refuse to follow Trump’s orders if he becomes president.

'Former CIA director Michael Hayden believes there is a legitimate possibility that the U.S. military would refuse to follow orders given by Donald Trump if the Republican front-runner becomes president and decides to make good on certain campaign pledges.

Hayden, who also headed the National Security Agency from 1999 to 2005, made the provocative statement on Friday during an appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Trump, fresh off a string of primary victories, has yet to secure his party’s nomination, but Hayden said the candidate’s rhetoric already raises troubling questions.

“I would be incredibly concerned if a President Trump governed in a way that was consistent with the language that candidate Trump expressed during the campaign,” Hayden said during the interview with Maher.'

sound like the Armed Forces wouldn't do what Trump ordered because Trump is a bigoted moron. That is not the case. Hayden was referring to remarks Trump made in campaign speeches (like killing the families of terrorists) that would be illegal under US and International Law of War. Since Trump's orders would be illegal, the members of the Armed Forces would have a duty to disobey them.

It all seems quite sensational when you have a candidate and a former spy chief is telling you the military wouldn't follow that person, but that isn't what he was saying.

For those of you who remember some of the more notable trials in which the superior orders defense was brought up was Nuremburg and Lt. Calley with My Lai.

Here is the ruling:

The Court of Military Appeals held that "the justification for acts done pursuant to orders does not exist if the order was of such a nature that a man of ordinary sense and understanding would know it to be illegal."

Key word is "legal orders". Any Republican/Christian death cult fantasy of mass killings brown or Muslim children will promptly ignored.
