Watching Michael Ware on Maher

He seems so different from the man who used to reliably report. What the hell happened to him - he acted like he was drunk or stoned and I'm not opposed to either, but he didn't acquit himself very well. When Maher asks if 'you're okay' that seems to be a concern.

Yes. He was drinking and it was a heavy interview. He's kind of a goofy guy, not in a bad way. haikugal Mar 2016 #7

And seem to know me so well, you're just a Friday night expert.

I've not seen Ware in at least a couple of years and wondered what happened to him....I didn't ask for nasty comments from a mean poster. Grow up.

mocking a man with PTSD is childish. I don't care what you asked for. You could have googled it instead of slandering him as a drunk as your first response, on a public forum.

If you post a public comment on a bulletin board site you invite a reply. You don't get to pick what responses you get.

It was kind of a disjointed little interview, with Bill making jokes and Michael making some serious points, I thought it was rather poignant when he talked about all the "children" that have served in that war of choice and how damaged they are. He's obviously seen many horrors and he said something about living with the horror of those ghosts for the rest of his life.

Peace

He mentioned not being able to sleep for about a decade, finding his way home and walking with ghosts. War is hell and I was touched by his interview and plan on seeing his film. He is exactly right when he stated that when we invaded Iraq, we created the ISIS which hurts us now.

Judgement matters. Ì guess I'll leave that sober thought there as you consider which Democratic candidate has a history of better judgment and isn't a hawk.....

The Masters of War--the Bushes, Cheneys, Clintons, and Obamas of the world--can look poised, but those who bear witness will undoubtedly carry different dispositions.

terribly for years since his war reporting. It broke him. He has been putting himself back together and made a film of the wars that graphically show what war really is. I worry for him. Apparently making the movie was not as curative as he had hoped.

He was in the wars for the duration without many breaks. Other journalists come and go - some because they can't take it anymore. He loved the people and could not allow himself to leave.
