Home safe, transported 2 rescued Boston Terriers over the weekend 200 miles photos UPDATE

Last edited Mon Apr 4, 2016, 09:45 AM - Edit history (1)

Update: Original post about the trip here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027722669

An answer to a common private question. A few asked why I had Kit in the front seat of the SUV and not further back as a safety issue. We had other dogs in the vehicle I can't post about because of their circumstances.

It will be tomorrow before I recover. Some weekend. I'm short on sleep and have to get up at 3:30 to take somebody to the airport. I knew everybody was waiting to see these.

Friday our plans to take TWO dogs to KC got changed. We just took one dog down Friday. Meet Betsy. She is a little over one year old. Her troubles are all behind her.

Today on the return trip I had a 9 year old puppy mill survivor in my lap. Her name is Kit. She is a darling. It was hard to give her up after just having her in my lap for a few hours. She won't live in a cage or ever have puppies again.

She isn't used to contact yet. This was right after she got in my lap. Shaking like a leaf.

It took her over an hour to settle down, feel safe, and nap.

Everybody took care of business at a rest stop on the way home.

I'll be back tomorrow,

They take them in. Heal them inside and out. Then have enough love to let them go to a forever home.

Animal rescue is a special thing.

I happen to be a cat person, and all of my cats are rescues/found/shelter cats.

At the moment I'm without cats, because all of my previous cats have passed on and my life right now doesn't accommodate them, but someday, I promise, I will be a crazy cat lady.

I have a brother who does Irish Wolfhound rescue, and whenever I talk to someone who is eager to have a particular breed of dog, I always talk up the breed rescue people.

I can't understand the things some people do to animals.

You are a good person for helping animals!
