Superman should be black.

By that I mean he should have dark skin, and not that he’s African-American or any other person of color. After all, the Man of Steel is from the planet Krypton, not Earth. That said, Superman could indeed be played by a black actor in future superhero movies.

My argument for why Superman should be black is based on science. Before I explain the reasoning, however, we need to address a sensitive subject: race. Many people use skin color as shorthand for ethnicity, but ‘race’ has little meaning in biology – it’s a social concept that describes recent ancestry....

Will we ever see a black Superman? In fact, Kryptonians of color already feature in comics. On an alternate version of Earth, for example, Calvin Ellis is not only Superman, but President of the United States (the character was modelled on Barack Obama).

4. More importantly, he's an alien

And this alien's homeworld has more gravity than a thousand earths - which is, of you didn't know, more gravity than most stars. it is in effect a brown hole. With this level of gravity, "air" is effectively a solid, and the pressure makes the surface of the planet as hot as some stars - and unable to melt. Under this gravity, elements are being created simply by crushing particles together, so the entire place glows with ionizing radiation in addition to the infrared radiation. Some of those elements produced are evidently extremely harmful to whatever life has managed to develop on this planet.

So while Superman would likely have black skin - as in, literally black (more accurately, the deepest, darkest shade of purple imaginable) it's vastly more likely that he would be a sheet of matter a single molecular-thickness deep. essentially less of "superman" and more "superoilslick"

He is a fictional character. Write a Superman movie where he is an atom thick if you want.

black man, and he lands in the South in the 1940's or 50's... dammit, I wish I could remember the name. It was on a label other than Marvel and DC.

"Val-Zod" I guess took over the name. Not sure if they gave him an Earth secret identity.
