NC governor McCrory blames the "left" for the bathroom bill...

This thing is exploding in McCrory's face, so he goes the usual route, "BLAME THE LEFT!"

NC Gov. Pat McCrory: 'It Was The Left That Brought About The Bathroom Bill'

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) blamed liberals over the weekend for a state law that strips bathroom rights from transgender people.

On Sunday's edition of Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd asked the governor if he regretted signing HB2 after 160 companies called for it to be repealed, and dozens threatened to boycott the state.

McCrory argued that his job as governor was to stop "government overreach" by cities like Charlotte, which had passed an ordinance allowing transgender people to use the restroom of their choice.

"It was the left that brought about the bathroom bill, not the right," he insisted. "The city of Charlotte passed a mandate on every private sector employer in North Carolina, one of the largest cities in the United States of America. And I think that's government overreach."

"You talk about overreach," Todd interrupted. "You say Charlotte overreached. How did the state of North Carolina, the state government not overreach in just the same way?"

"This has been a long debate in the city of Charlotte, this is where they came down," the Meet the Press host pointed out. "You guys debated for like 10 seconds."

I can't help but say just how bloody stupid it was.

I just saw an episode of "Eyes On The Prize" that looked at school desegregation, and how vicious Orval Faubus in Arkansas and Ross Barnett was in Mississippi.

Worst part?
Trump and Cruz want to bring it back, only now along religious lines.

12. Well, it can't be Gov. McCrory's fault

It just can't, okay? If the North Carolina legislature and governor hadn't acted as precipitately as they did, do you know what would have/might have/could have happened? Well, do you? The worstest of all possible outcomes: Nothing. The sky wouldn't have fallen down. Rivers wouldn't have run red with blood (fly ash is another matter, but that's not Gov. McCrory's fault, either, so stop saying that). Cats and dogs would have continued with their natural enmity except where they don't. And a bunch of very nice little old ladies who go to church every Sunday wouldn't have been so badly frightened.

And how are you going to govern a state if that doesn't happen? You might have to pay attention to actual issues of governance, and Art Pope doesn't want that.
