He wasn't hanging out with Obama on the basketball court or sitting on the steps drinking beers. This was a worldwide broadcast event and Wilmore was a disgrace.

My thoughts exactly.

He was boring as hell. 80% of his shtick was black vs. white B.S. which is a complete turn-off to most who watched.

When the camera landed on Michelle, you could see that she was disgusted. It looked like she couldn't believe how low he was aiming. Shaking her head and frowning.

Wilmore fell over that delicate line between "edgy" and "over the edge" several times.

Compare his slege-hammer bludgeoning style to Colbert's rapier-like, surgical finesse back in 2006. The contrast is stark.

is the Obama's housemaid and lackey was one of those times.

Not only were some of his lines NOT funny, but they were cringe-making in the extreme.

Michelle was disgusted at various points during his routine. It looked like she couldn't believe how low he was aiming. Shaking her head and frowning.

There's a delicate line between "edgy" and "over the edge". Wilmore fell over it several times.

ETA: Wilmore's schtick couldn't hold a candle to Colbert's epic smack down back in 2006--done with fine surgical skill and precision. This routine was like a slege-hammer bludgeoning in comparison.

..."too much truth", as latebloomer said above, then good for him! I think it's IMPOSSIBLE to speak too much truth to the low life media hacks we have spewing their bullshit and not asking questions or challenging anyone. FUCK THEM and good for Larry, whose show I do not miss because he is awesome and so is his show.

ETA: I see CSPAN is replaying the WHCD right now so I've set it too record and will watch with great interest. I hope he did make those assholes uncomfortable, I expected no less from him.

CPT jokes, lovingly using the n-word between 2 Black men...this was a glimpse of black culture and that nonblack audience was like a deer in headlights a time...loved it.

I thought he was funny as hell. Most of DC is humor impaired so I wouldn't expect much from that group. Those that thought Wilmore went too far, for them maybe they can bring back Rich Little next year.
