Orlando man given George Zimmerman's old cell phone number bombarded with death threats

Orlando man given George Zimmerman's old cell phone number bombarded with death threats

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/06/08/orlando-man-given-george-zimmerman-old-cell-phone-number-bombarded-with-death/

ORLANDO – At the age of 49, Orlando man Junior Alexander Guy finally bought his first cellphone. Within days he wished he hadn't.

At all hours of the day and night, the phone would ring and callers would insult and threaten him.

He quickly worked out that the number he had been given by T-Mobile previously belonged to Trayvon Martin murder accused George Zimmerman, The Orlando Sentinel reported, and was the number Zimmerman gave to 911 dispatchers the night of his fatal clash with Martin.

In all, he got about 70 threatening calls between May 7, when he bought the phone, and May 16, when he gave it to a lawyer -- who is petitioning T-Mobile to pay damages to Guy.

But you know what's even more awful? Stalking, following, and gunning down an unarmed kid carrying skittles and an iced.

I said that shooting an unarmed teenager is more awful than death threats. Duh.

If you were not minimizing death threats (you were, but lets' play along) then your comment was random... you just felt moved to say something utterly irrelevant.

If you were just saying something that was true then why not "bananas are yellow"

Your comment was intended to minimize death threats.

If someone popped into a Zimmerman thread to note that Zimmerman shooting Martin was small potatoes compared to the holocaust you would, rightly, question why the poster chose to make that particular random true observation, and would conclude that they were minimizing shooting Martin.

And you'd be right.

And your comment was a morally bankrupt minimization of death threats.

you still need a primer in critical thinking. That one can't condemn something terrible without the piss poor argument that something else is worse, demonstrates a real lack of said critical thinking skills. duh, dearie.

I didn't immediately condemn the death threats directed toward Zimmy and I instead mentioned how he shot an unarmed teenager.

So sue me, honey.

This incident seems similar to when Spike Lee posted the alleged address of George Zimmerman on his Twitter account but later realized that the address belonged to an elderly couple who had no connection to Zimmerman at all.

I don't really care for Lee, his arrogance. There was no excuse for his actions...it was "vigilante justice," no better than the attitude that kept Zimmerman in pursuit of Trayvon after the 911 operator told him to back the fuck off.

I'm not a Zimmerman supporter but death threats aren't going to help put him in jail where he belongs.

I hope Guy gets satisfaction with T-Mobile. People sometimes do awful things but I think a lot of it is a growing frustration over the increasingly obvious lack of a functioning justice system in our society.

I'm surprised only that it took this long for him to implode/explode.
