Reading all his congressional records today. I can't for the life of me see what all the commotion is about. He's an average politician at best. At worse he's a regional buerocrat. Not a lot of depth that I could see.

Until the ACA is repealed or is it gay marriage or anything else that might actually help people? Hurricane Sandy was a real litmus test after Katrina. New Jersey and NY clobbered and Uncle Sam money was held up by repukes. You'd think the republicans in the northeast would have finally said enough, but like all good apparatchiks, they just genuflected. This country is a goddamned mess, and one perfectly sensible step is to blow tons of money on our infrastructure. It creates jobs, American jobs, it's a huge investment for future generations, and money spent on infrastructure is an economic multiplier. And yet, our congress critters can't put two and two together because a democrat, a black democrat resides in the white house. Simply amazing that this goes on and on.

Click on the little colored flag-bubbles to get a pop-up of info and a link to the NOAA page for that river, or a flood-stage graphic such as this one:

I've found that function exceptionally helpful in the Houston area for our natural and concrete bayous. Stay safe!

That's a shit ton of water.

Meanwhile, it's supposed to be in the 90s in Portland Oregon this week. I don't want flooding, but a bit of rain might be nice.

Stay dry.

There was a storm a few years ago where they were taking my neighbors out in pontoon boats. There is nothing weirder, especially if the area is not prone to such bad floods.

Stuff happens fast in these storms, so if there is even a worry, get out to somewhere safe.

And let us know how you are.
