Source: Lovemeow
A stray cat showed up at the door of a house and just walked right in.
"We had never had a cat before and it has been a learning experience to say the least," reddit user fishtank88 said.
The kitty was friendly and just loved it when they gave her attention and love. She needed a warmer place to stay and found their home.
No one came to claim the cat, so they started caring for her, and even helped trim off the matted fur, so she could feel more comfortable.
"She kept getting wider and sleeping more, we knew she was pregnant."
They began to research and prepare for the birth of the kittens.
Feels warmer in here.
She's family now!
Mama gave birth to three healthy babies.
Welcome to the world little one!
The kittens are six weeks old now. Look at those fluffy faces .

(15,242 posts)Everyone wanted me to trap her but I let her go. I managed to get the kittens at 6 weeks and brought them in the house we adopted out all four kittens with a complimentary bag of cat food. I managed to trap the MaMa cat and got her spayed. It took two years before I could pet her and never try to pick her up. I can get her in a cage to visit the vet annually for shots, he has to wear heavy gloves to get near her. I really like cats but she is a miniature wid tiger and deals with me only on her own terms.

(23,156 posts)She was a stray, had clearly been on her own for some time, was starving, flea-infested, and just barely surviving by hunting. She was probably only days from death when we gave her water (did I neglect to say she showed up at our home in Kansas in the middle of a heat wave, with 100 degree plus temps?) and the next day we gave her some food.
It was obvious she had been a well-loved, well taken care of cat. It was equally obvious she'd been on her own for some unknown length of time and had somehow decided we were her last best hope. After about a week we did the responsible thing: brought her to our vet for de-fleaing, giving her the necessary shots, and just a general assessment. We left her outside one more day for the flea treatment to take effect, then brought her inside. She had no idea we already had two other cats, and it took a while for all of the cats to adjust.
I must say that I am glad beyond measure that we took her in. A couple of years later my husband and I divorced, and I wound up taking all three cats with me to another part of the country. They have all gone on to that great litterbox in the sky, and at present I have no feline housemates. Someday I'll be a crazy cat lady, but not for now.
And of course it's not just cats. People do terrible things to dogs, which is possibly even more heartbreaking given how dogs are so closely connected to humans. How anyone can mistreat or abandon any of our furry friends is beyond me. And of course don't get me started on the parents who abuse their children.
Thank you for this wonderful story.
