Guys?
Look, we tried that back in 1861.
Alabama passed its Ordinance of Secession on January 11, 1861, joining South Carolina and Mississippi who had seceded days earlier.
OK, it seemed like a really good idea at the time.
To (some) folks in Alabama.
Our crazy goes back over a hundred years.
The results of that decision were less than satisfactory and MUCH less than desired.
I'm a Texan-by-Marriage.
I understand that y'all have politicians damn near as dumbass and nutso as we do.
But at least your governor isn't facing impeachment (our is), your speaker of the house hasn't been convicted of 12 counts of bribery and ethics violations (ours has), and the chief justice of your supreme court hasn't violated a federal court ruling and been relieved of duty pending findings of a judicial inquiry commission (ours has).
We have hit the trifecta.
woohoo
So please try and cool it, my fellow Texians.
Secession will just bring you a world of hurt, although I will admit it would please a lot of your (so far) fellow countrymen.
