Judge Aaron Persky made headlines for all the wrong reasons last month after he sentenced Stanford rapist Brock Turner to probation and a pathetic six months in county jail for raping an unconscious woman. Now he's making headlines again for sentencing Raul Ramirez, a 32-year-old immigrant from El Salvador who sexually assaulted his female roommate in a case very similar to Turner's, to three years in state prison.
Posting in GD, as byline is two days old.

(86,765 posts)for this judge to be recalled and removed from the bench. Hope that effort is successful. There seems to be a problem with passing judgement for rape in this country... too many get off too lightly. My father was a pedophile and he never saw a day behind bars and I know he ruined the lives of many, including his own children's lives. I know he was charged with rape more than once and his line was, and mind you we're talking with ten year old girls, "She led me into it."
I think there should be something worse than just doing time behind bars attached to this kind of crime.
