(341 posts). . . they're good enough for me during the convention.
It's not like the media is generally doing a better job of reporting the facts.

(46,179 posts)I'm also hearing a great deal about the efforts of the DNC and the establishment media to downplay that discontent and attribute it to "sore losers."
I've also run into quite a crowd of people right here at DU who are spreading that myth. They are terrified that they can't beat Trump without a public perception of unity. The idea that people can unify to defeat Trump, but still remain in dissent with establishment politics, is something they just can't seem to wrap their heads around.

(9,600 posts)Only about 25 delegates left the convention hall. Or less??? Look at the picture you posted. Do those demonstrators look like DNC delegates or some random demonstrators?

(54,415 posts)You know about the JPF and the PFJ. Third party movements will never gain traction as long as they are splintered into factions that refuse to unite. Should enough of them unite into a single coherent movement, then they could change the course of history. Until then, though, they will remain footnotes to history.

(5,044 posts)Why are you trying to sew doubt about our party nominee? It does NOTHING positive, it's not a positive discussion and it causes those of us who want to win in November have to fight two battles. One against Trump and one against people who are trying to divide our party from within.

A discussion about reality, and not being in denial, is ALWAYS a positive discussion. Denial will get Drumpf elected, and none of us want that. I happen to be very afraid of the party split, but I'm not going into denial about it and not discuss it. It needs to be discussed and fixed. Lack of discussion will make it worse.

(8,652 posts)but they are very, very bad at math.
you see, if our real political enemies, the right wing Republican party stays in tact and we split in two, here's what happens in every race for every office in America, including President.
The traditional Democrats get 30%, the new Progressives get 30% and the other side wins with just 40%. in our system, the people who think the most like you, but don't vote for you (or you for them), loses.
Politics is math.
