(14,786 posts)I listened to that speech. It is worse than described there. That speech alone should have the republican party boot him out.
He was disjointed in speaking, unable to stay on topic. I didn't even count how many times he said he was great. When he did hit on policy, he used debunked lies and false narrative. During all that he bragged about not using a teleprompter and the only way he could do the speech was because of his great memory.

(11,949 posts)Which if Don the Con keeps losing it like he has been this week we may get anyway. The press is about done covering for his antics and are about to start showing his total meltdowns.
They will still have great ratings while destroying his chances. Yes, the press are sharks who would eat their mothers for ratings, but most of them really do not want Donald as their president.

(4,763 posts)After seeing his name in ten brazillion font at the RNC? Attention is heroin for narcissists, and that motherfucker is hooked hard. There is nothing short of death that could make him abandon this campaign. Let me be careful to note: I hope he does not die. I hope he lives to see Hillary whip his tiny-fingered orangutan ass.

(50,752 posts)Assuming he loses, it won't be a setback for him at all. It will gin up his defectiveness and he'll spend the next 4 or 8 years whining about the election being stolen. As long as the camera is on him, I don't think he cares whether he wins or loses.

(50,296 posts)Trump will wiggle and wriggle, but not out. He might crumble and flame out and melt and blow multiple fuses but he won't leave the race.
He may wish he had never started after he endures the first debate. It would not surprise me at all if he wriggles out of the rest of the debates.
If he stays in the election and loses he will pin it on the media and the Republican Party and will say "the system is rigged" and will invoke voter "fraud" conspiracy theories and will do anything to divert blame away from himself.
Just like before the conventions he was 100% involved in the planning and choice of speakers but after the conventions he said the Republican Party did the whole thing and he "just showed up to speak".
