Alabama Republican Loses Election & GOES INSANE: ‘I Lost. The N***er Won’

http://bipartisanreport.com/2016/08/25/alabama-republican-loses-election-goes-insane-i-lost-the-ner-won-screenshot/

GOP Mayor Patsy Capshaw Skipper grumbled on Facebook when a friend asked about this week’s election. This once again goes to show: If Republicans truly hate being called out as racists, maybe they should stop doing and saying racist things.

WTVY reports Midland City, Ala.’s current Mayor, Patsy Capshaw Skipper, lost her seat to Jo Ann Bennet Grimsley. The mayor-elect certainly has a lot of experience: She’s worked for Dale County for 27 years as an assistant city clerk, a water clerk, and then a court clerk. Skipper, on the other hand, took over as interim mayor in February when health issues forced her husband Virgil to retire.

In a veiled dig at the now-obvious pervasive racism in City Hall, Jo Ann Bennet Grimsley told reporters:
‘I wear many hats. And I know I’m going to make a good mayor for all the people, not for some, all the people of midland city, because I love my community and I love midland city and all the people that’s here.’

Voters must have agreed with the above assessment because Jo Ann Bennet Grimsley won 233 to Patsy Capshaw Skipper’s 148. And apparently, Skipper’s both a sore loser and a racist. Rae Cloyd found this on her Facebook feed and took a screenshot.

Gosh, I love our post-racial society!

Midland City mayor denies she made racially charged Facebook comment

Midland City Mayor Patsy Capshaw Skipper said she hasn’t been able to use her Facebook account for several weeks and did not post a racially charged comment about the woman who won Tuesday night’s mayoral election.

A screenshot of Skipper’s Facebook page, which was not viewable by those not on her friend’s list, showed a short exchange from Skipper’s account and another person. When asked about the results of the election, the reply on Skipper’s Facebook account included the racially charged comment.

“My Facebook has been messed up for several weeks and I haven’t been using it,” Skipper said when contacted Wednesday night by the Dothan Eagle. “I think I’ve been hacked.” Skipper said she just underwent heart surgery and couldn’t even get out and campaign for the election. “And that, my Facebook, has been the least of my worries,” she said.

I'm an old white man. 71, born and reared in Wilkinson County, Mississippi; great-great-grandson of slave owners; great-grandson of KKK Grand Wizard. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship to a college outside the South. At age 19 I walked out of the Baptist Church and never looked back. 28 years in the Army.

This is my experience as of today with white Southerners.

Cousin #1. Wealthy. Inherited his father's small business and grew it into a huge family-owned business. MA in Electrical Engineering. He's worth about $100 million. He refers to his black workers as "niggers" and "coons;" refers to his Hispanic workers as "wetbacks" and "greasers."

Cousin #2. Master machinist with BA in metallurgical engineering. All black people are "niggers." All Hispanics are "wetbacks." All Middle Easterners are "ragheads."

Cousin #3. Registered nurse; specialty is cardiac surgical nursing. The black physicians with whom she works are "nigger doctors." The Indian cardiologist with whom she works occasionally is a "raghead."

Need I continue to tell you about Cousins #4, #5, and #6? It's the same story. These are well-educated people who read and travel; who are respected in their communities; who are deacons in their Baptist church; who are officers in their county Republican parties. Cousin #1 has endowed a chair at a major Southern university. Every single one of them delights in telling "nigger jokes," "queer jokes," and Hillary jokes. And their white friends and white colleagues are EXACTLY LIKE THEM.

Yes, this IS the way white Southerners talk . . . today . . . in the 21st Century.

My grandpa was a truly progressive man for his time. His friends and coworkers were diverse, black, gay, Jewish, "Latin," no problem, a Hollywood sort of liberal.

Until I decided to marry, in his words, "a Mexican girl." Men in his Wild West family might date Mexican girls for fun, but they did not marry them. He did not come to our wedding.

To his credit, he got over that, but growing up I heard a lot of racist crap from older family. Maybe not so overt as might be heard in the south, but just as strong.

There were "sundown towns" in California as bad as anywhere else. I grew up in an 99 44/100 Ivory Soap white community that was hostile to anyone who wasn't white. DWB harassment was a favorite sport of the police department and real estate agents and lenders somehow couldn't find homes for people who were not white.

When my mom and dad retired they fled, and me and all my siblings fled.

Frankly places where everyone is white creep me out, maybe because I was called queerbait in middle and high school and it was white guys who'd beat me bloody.

but quite possibly in her social group.

I saw it regularly in Tennessee when I lived there for five years in my 30s. Friends of ours who were African American (he was a doctor) were regularly insulted, and the mom was warned off of taking her child to the restroom in one of our small towns near our city (Cookeville).

I may have been less aware of it when I was in high school in Mississippi, but I must have had the attitude somewhat as well because my half brother (who lived with his mom) called me up short about it. I can never remember using the n word though. I did have African American friends in high school, but not many given that about 30% of the school was African Americans.

My mom who is originally from West Virginia still regularly uses the n word (she is in her early 70s). I had my grandpa explain to me when I was a teenager how every black girl who was born should be sterilized.
